A CLARINO Metadata Workshop will be held at Trondheim on March 27, 2014. The CLARIN-NL project in The Netherlands has published a ‘404’ page bringing together links to all its project results so far. The CLARINO coordinator and the CLARIN ERIC director have signed an agreement describing the observer role of the Norwegian consortium in the CLARIN ERIC. Watch this video produced by the Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS) of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). The LINDAT center in the Czech Republic, implemented with DSpace, has become an exemplary CLARIN center. It is now serving as example for the CLARINO center at the University Library at Bergen. Supported by a CLARIN mobility action, Jozef Misutka has traveled from Prague to Bergen from August 19 to 23, 2013 and assisted Øyvind Gjesdal in implementing a DSpace repository with extensions to achieve compatibility with CLARIN and META-SHARE. A few issues remain, but it is expected that the CLARINO center at Bergen will become operative in September 2013. CLARIN-NL is showing some movies illustrating different applications of the infrastructure. The Humanities are increasingly seen as relevant to information technology. Google is recruiting humanities graduates. CLARINO, the Norwegian CLARIN project, will hold its 2013 consortium meeting on September 12 and 13 at Solstrand. Only for consortium members and boards. CLARIN ERIC has published a leaflet to disseminate its goals, plans and organizational details. The proceedings of the Workshop on Nordic Language Research Infrastructure have now been published at LIU press. The papers contain numerous references to results and plans in META-NORD, CLARINO and other projects. |
