The D-SPIN project is the German contribution to the European CLARIN project. D-SPIN provides the basis for a stable and sustainable infrastructure of language resources and language technologies, serving empirical research in humanities and social sciences. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Land Baden-Württemberg and the institutional partners.
D-SPIN promotes WebLicht as a service-oriented architecture for building and deploying a linguistic infrastructure. WebLicht provides a web-based service environment for the integration and use of language resources and tools. This implies that distributed and independent services can be dynamically combined to form a processing pipeline. In this way, existing language resources can be combined and processed in a flexible way tailored to specific user needs.
